Your First Visit

Patient Forms

Upon entering our office our patient care coordinator will greet you and welcome you to the clinic.  We will request you fill out a detailed health history . The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition.


Consult

Consultation

Next you will have a consultation with Dr. West to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options. Your first visit is designed for Dr. West to learn more about you and your condition, and determine whether our clinic can help you meet your goals.


Examination 

Exam

After your consultation, Dr. West will conduct a very thorough postural, orthopedic, neurological and spinal examination in order to assess spinal health and diagnose conditions. These postural and spinal screenings can allow Dr. West to see the progression of the patient’s condition, and make recommendations regarding effective treatment of the symptoms


X-Ray Studies

Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays to to get a full evaluation of a patient. X-rays help us rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you.  Most people are amazed once they their x-rays and can often immediately identify their misalignments and degeneration themselves.


Report of Findings 

ROF

After your consultation and examination, Dr. West will compile the findings and create a detailed report outlining your symptoms and diagnosis. On your second visit, Dr. West will sit down with you and go through all of the examination findings, your diagnosis and his recommendations for treatment. 

If you have a condition that requires care with other providers, the doctor will tell you. If Dr. West believes we can help you, we will outline your unique spinal rehabilitation program, and get your started with your first treatment.


Treatment

Treatment

Patients will generally be provided with their first treatment at the conclusion of the second visit. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapy and/or soft tissue therapies.  Treatment is interactive; Dr. West will explain what he is doing and you can express any questions or concerns you may have.


Home Care Instruction 

Homecare

Prior to leaving, patients will be instructed on a wellness program to be conducted at home, which may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, or activity modification. In future visits you will be given your specialized exercise program, which will aid in your recovery and prevention of future injury.  Every body is unique and different and therefore everyone requires a unique and customized wellness plan.
